Diamonds are among the most beautiful gems that are loved by almost everyone and this is probably the reason why they are in high demand. To meet this demand, some wholesale jewelry professionals developed synthetic diamonds which are very similar to natural diamonds in appearance and chemical composition. The variance can only be seen under a microscope hence they are not only used in industries for cutting machines or as jewelry and gemstone. These are also known as stimulated diamonds or man made diamonds.
Formation of natural diamonds takes place under the earth’s crust under high pressure and high temperature. They take time in forming and are either mined or brought to the earth’s surface by volcanic eruption. Synthetic diamonds are formed in the laboratory under suitable conditions and are prepared in just a few days. Albeit, the composition and physical appearance of man made diamonds is similar to natural diamonds.
Man made type are less expensive than natural diamond and are widely used in many applications. The major application of simulated one is industrial. They are used in grinding, polishing, cutting as well as abrasive in many industries. Synthetic diamonds are used in high power transistors, heat sinks and high power semiconductor lasers because of their efficient thermal conductivity property. In the electronics field, it is widely used in radiation detection devices and in electrodes among other uses.
Finally, these gems are also used as gemstone in diamond jewelry due to its low cost. They are used as ring enhancers since they come in a variety of colors such as yellow, green, pink, blue, etc. Synthetic diamond rings, bracelets, pendent, etc., are available on the market. There several ways in which this diamond is manufactured in the laboratory. The common manufacturing methods include high pressure and high temperature technique, explosive detonation, ultrasound cavitation and chemical vapor deposition.
